The Reel in has been in Malibu since at least 1946, but was originally a Mexican Restaurant.  In 1964 it was bought and renamed “The Raft” by a retired wrestler named “Fat Jack, and remained until 1977 when it closed. Andy Leonard and wife Teddy opened it as The Reel Inn in 1986, making sure the seafood was always fresh daily, as well as the fish puns posted on the sign outside of the restaurant.  ”The neighbors, especially a lot of screenwriters call in and give us ideas,” Teddy said. “If we use them, we buy them dinner.  It’s turned into a game!”
